The Dartmouth Police Department currently has three accident reconstruction officers assigned to the Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU).
These officers have received specialized training in the field of Accident Reconstruction, laser scene mapping, CAD diagramming, and other investigative techniques that will determine the proximate cause of the collision and aid investigating officers in determining the responsible parties.
The CRU also works closely with the District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police CPAC Unit and other governmental and civilian agencies during the investigative process.
